Shader Development

In mid 2009 I started development of a new Lightstorm3D shader library for Mental Ray. This project has become quite extensive and I going to share some information and sample renderings here.

Main focus was tight Maya integration and full frame buffer (render pass) support. In comparison to Mental Ray’s standard set of shaders I have added lots of new mechanisms to control shading performance versus quality and new parameters to define shading effects in more detail.
