Digital Bathroom

Dove Wellness is one of the first Dove commercials that features a full CGI packshot at the end of filmed material. We had to create a real looking wellness bathroom, pulling back from the products through a door that closes right in front of the viewer.

Modelling

We modelled a digital set and the products seen in this commercial. Marco modelled all Dove products visible in the bathroom. Kay modelled the bathroom based on ideas and inspirations from the agency responsible for this project.

Layout, Animation & Camera

Kay arranged the products in the scene and animated the camera.

Texturing, Shading, Lighting & Rendering

Kay did texturing and shading of the bathroom. He used Maya and Mental Ray shaders to define the material properties of the objects. Lighting was done using Mental Ray's physical sky and additional Maya spotlights. The scene were rendered using final gathering. We used baked FG maps to reduce flickering and speed up the rendering process. Kay rendered multiple layers for final image tweaking in compositing.

Compositing

Johannes Mueller did the compositing in Shake. Final grading was done by Gil Harir in Shake.
