Kikkoman

Locomotion had to do an intro and outro for a German cooking show on VOX. First we see just a single Kikkoman bottle. After a moment cutlery joins the bottle moving into view from the left and right. The cutlery is late so the pieces need to hurry. A bucket stumbles and falls over.

In the outro the cutlery leaves the scene because the show has ended.

Modeling & Texturing

For modelling Marco could use real cutlery reference material. He took reference photos of forks, knifes and buckets to apply the right scaling and proportions. Marco also used those photos as texture reference.

Next he focused on deformability of the cutlery. He had to be sure each piece of geometry had enough edge loops in deformable regions.

Shading & Lighting

To light the scene and add environmental reflections Marco used a HDRI image. Some extra lightsources were added get crisp highlights and lighten dark regions. Tim Ketzer did the shading of the bottle. Shading was done with standard Maya materials.

Rigging & Animation

Markus Pchalek was the animator on this job and also rigged the cutlery.

Rendering

Romain Joly did the rendering and created all layers required for compositing.
