Description

Randomize translation along local or world space axes by sampling a volumetric noise.
Using this tool you can either modify the position of objects or deform them. This
effect can i.e. be applied to add some irregularity to surfaces or shuffle the position
of objects.

The following object and component types are supported:

  • polygon vertices
  • nurbs control vertices
  • subd control vertices
  • lattice points
  • transform nodes
  • joint nodes
  • scale pivots
  • rotate pivots

  • randomize component and DAG node position

  • sample volumetric noise for evenly distributed randomization
  • set min/max displacement
  • choose XYZ axis
  • local or world space

Usage

Command: lsRandomizePoints

Select point components or DAG nodes you want to apply the positional randomization effect to. Make adjustments in the UI and click the Randomize Points button.
