Description

This script adds random motion to selected attributes. Original input connections can be maintained so the random value is layered on top of existing animation. This can be used to add natural irregularity to motion or to achieve effects such as camera shaking, earthquakes and so on.

Sine curve with layered randomization

Function Summary

  • noise min value & range
  • animation speed
  • noise depth (octaves)
  • common or individual, random seed value
  • keep or replace input connections

Usage

Command: lsRandomizeChannel

Select some objects you want to apply channel randomization to and execute the tool. Select the attributes you want to randomize, adjust the noise settings and click the Randomize Channel button.

Using the attribute editor you can tune the noise node's settings and build more sophistacted effects by animating noise attributes or mapping additional textures to the noise.

Since the noise can be layered on top of existing animation you have full access to construction history and can modify the original input (i.e. an animation curve) and tune the randomization effect.
